Whole-body red light therapy, a short drive from Beachwood
Beachwood was built around the water, and its residents live like it. This is a look at how FDA-cleared NovoTHOR® red light therapy in nearby Howell fits the rhythm of a borough that never really goes indoors.
Serving Beachwood, NJ A riverside borough established in 1917
Ask anyone who grew up here and the map of Beachwood is drawn in water. There is the beach and riverside park on the Toms River, the sailboats slipping out from the Beachwood Yacht Club, and the green stretch of Birch and Surf Park where kids and coaches turn out for the season. It is an active, family-first place, and an active life asks a lot of a body over time. Red light therapy is a quiet, evidence-based way to give some of that back.
Our studio sits at Cherry Tree Plaza on Route 9 in Howell, an easy trip up from the shore. We run a single piece of equipment and we run it well: a NovoTHOR® whole-body bed, the same technology used in professional sports and clinical settings. You lie down, the panels of red and near-infrared light switch on, and in a matter of minutes your whole body has been treated at once.
“The light does not do the healing. It gives your cells more of the energy they already use to heal themselves.”
What actually happens in a session
The formal name is photobiomodulation. Specific wavelengths of red light, around 660 nanometers, and near-infrared light, around 850 nanometers, reach the mitochondria inside your cells. Mitochondria are the small engines that produce ATP, the fuel that powers repair. When they work more efficiently, tissue tends to recover faster, inflammation tends to settle, and circulation tends to improve. None of this is a cure or a guarantee, and we will never sell it as one. It is a well-studied assist that works best as a habit rather than a rescue.
Because the NovoTHOR® treats you head to toe in one lie down, there is nothing to target and no gel, no needles, and no downtime afterward. Most people head straight back to their afternoon.
Recovery for an outdoor life
Beachwood culture leans on the outdoors: walking and biking the neighborhoods, boating and water sports on the river, seasons of youth sports at the local fields. Each of those leaves its own kind of wear. If you want to go deeper on the specifics, these three guides are a good place to start.
-
Athletic performance and recovery — For the runners, paddlers, and weekend sailors who push hard along the river.
-
Everyday pain relief — Easing the stiff shoulders and sore backs that follow a long day outdoors.
-
Better circulation — Warming tissue and encouraging blood flow after cold-water mornings.

The Beachwood we have in mind
When we talk about serving Beachwood, these are the places we picture. The riverfront beach and boardwalk and the shops and eateries along Atlantic City Boulevard give the borough its summer pulse; the Community Center keeps it social year round; and the Yacht Club has kept a love of the water alive here for generations. Residents from Toms River, Pine Beach, South Toms River, Berkeley Township, and Bayville find their way to us just as easily.
