Feel Vibrant Again
Holiday Heights is a proud 55-plus community that never stops moving. Give your body the whole-body red light recovery it deserves — just up the road in Howell.
Made for the way you live
Built for active aging
Water aerobics, bocce, shuffleboard, group fitness. Red light therapy slots right into a life already in motion.
Gentle by design
No needles, no heat you can't handle, no downtime. You simply lie back inside the pod and let the light work.
Minutes, not hours
A full-body NovoTHOR session is short and comfortable, easy to fold into a weekday trip up Route 9.
Small sessions, real payoff
A few of the evidence-based benefits Holiday Heights residents reach for. Nothing here is a cure — just steady support for a healthy, mobile life.
Joint comfort
Studied for easing inflammation and stiffness in the knees and shoulders that decide whether bocce is fun or a chore.
Better circulation
Encourages blood flow and oxygenation head to toe, which matters most in hands and feet furthest from the heart.
Deeper sleep
May help regulate circadian rhythm, and better nights are what make the morning class possible.
Everyday energy
More cellular energy available means more in reserve for a full afternoon rather than half of one.
Why stiff mornings respond to light
The NovoTHOR® bed emits two wavelengths together. Red light at 660nm is absorbed near the surface of the skin. Near-infrared at 850nm reaches muscle and the tissue around joints, making it the more relevant number for a stiff knee or a shoulder that will not reach overhead first thing.
Both are absorbed inside your mitochondria, the part of a cell that produces energy. More available energy is what tissue spends on repair, and a secondary effect is wider blood vessels carrying oxygen to the places doing it. That combination is the reasoning behind reduced inflammation and better circulation .
On timing, be realistic. The effect accumulates: many people register a change after three or four sessions, with clearer differences over four to six weeks of steady visits. Responses vary, and none of this is a cure or a promise.
The heart of Holiday Heights
The gathering spots that keep this neighborhood social and active — and keep recovery worth prioritizing.
Holiday Heights Clubhouse
The central hub for social events, fitness classes and resident gatherings. Missing a class because your back seized up costs you the company as well as the exercise.
Holiday Heights Pool
A resident-exclusive outdoor pool built for recreation and gentle water exercise. Water aerobics is kind to joints while you are in it, but shoulders and hips still register the work afterwards.
Bocce Courts
Well-kept courts anchoring friendly outdoor competition and community tournaments. Bocce looks gentle until you count the bending, and a tournament stacks rounds of it into one afternoon that lower backs feel the next morning.
Shuffleboard Courts
Classic courts inside the community that keep residents active, social and moving through the seasons. Standing, pivoting and reaching for an hour is real activity, and comfortable joints are what keep it a weekly habit.
What the clubhouse calendar asks of a body
Holiday Heights runs on an active adult lifestyle with real structure behind it. The clubhouse programs fitness classes, yoga sessions and wellness seminars pitched at this stage of life, and residents fill out the week with water aerobics in the pool and recreation on the bocce and shuffleboard courts. There are no large gyms or health food stores inside the community itself, so nearby Toms River supplies the medical facilities, pharmacies and wellness resources. That is a genuinely busy week, and the reason recovery deserves a slot of its own.
An active adult (55+) community
Staying mobile is the goal itself here, not a side effect of training for something else.
Neighborly connection and social clubs
Standing groups mean plans are made with other people, so missing a week gets noticed.
Well-maintained recreational amenities
Courts, pool and clubhouse are kept in good order, which quietly encourages daily use.
A peaceful, landscaped setting
Walking paths and green space make low-impact movement the easiest thing to do here.
Close to Jersey Shore attractions
Day trips stay on the calendar, and day trips mean walking, standing and car doors.
Getting ready, and who should ask a doctor first
There is very little to it. You change in a private room and lie down inside the bed while the panels surround you. Nothing is applied to your skin, eye protection is provided, and staff stay within reach. Wear as little as you are comfortable in, since light reaches skin rather than fabric. You leave dressed and dry, with no cooldown to plan around.
For something specific, two to four visits a week is a sensible start, easing to weekly once you are satisfied. If getting in and out of a low bed is a concern, mention it when you book.
Worth a conversation with your physician
Some medications increase the skin's sensitivity to light, including certain antibiotics and acne treatments. If you take a photosensitizing medication, are pregnant, or are under treatment for a diagnosed condition, check with your physician before booking. Red light therapy is supportive care that works alongside medical treatment, never a replacement for it.
