Whole-body red light therapy, done properly
Elberon is a historic seaside neighborhood of Long Branch, where a coastal, active lifestyle sits alongside a growing interest in preventive care. Our Howell studio brings FDA-cleared NovoTHOR® red light therapy within an easy drive — delivered with a calm, clinical attention to detail.
How the treatment works
You rest in the NovoTHOR® bed while it delivers red and near-infrared light across your whole body at once. Your cells absorb those wavelengths in their mitochondria and convert the energy into ATP, which supports tissue repair and helps regulate inflammation. Sessions are warm, comfortable, and take only minutes.
The two wavelengths do different jobs. Red light at 660nm is absorbed close to the surface, in skin and the tissue just beneath it, which is why it is the wavelength associated with tone, texture and collagen. Near-infrared at 850nm travels deeper, reaching muscle, connective tissue and the structures surrounding joints. Both are picked up by an enzyme inside your mitochondria, so the effect is cellular rather than topical — and because the bed treats the entire body at once, you are not choosing which area gets attention.
We are careful with our claims. The evidence for red light therapy is promising, and we present it as an evidence-based wellness tool rather than a cure. If a treatment is not right for you, we will say so.

Serving the Elberon community
Elberon carries its history well — Victorian-era homes, tree-lined streets, and a coastline that has drawn visitors for generations. The neighborhood’s familiar landmarks anchor daily life, and our Howell studio is a short drive for anyone here.
-
Elberon Memorial Church
A 19th-century church recognized for its distinctive architecture and its standing in the neighborhood. It is a reminder of how much of Elberon predates the modern shore town around it.
-
Elberon Train Station
The New Jersey Transit stop connecting the neighborhood to the rest of the Jersey Shore and beyond. Rail commuting means long seated stretches and time on the platform, a combination that loads the lower back and neck more than most people credit.
-
Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park
The beachfront park near Elberon, used for swimming, recreation and the ocean views it is named for. Sand is unforgiving underfoot: running or walking it works calves and Achilles tendons harder than pavement does.
-
Elberon Public Library
A branch of the Long Branch Free Public Library serving the neighborhood directly, and one of the civic anchors that keeps daily life here on a walkable, residential scale.
A seaside neighborhood with a long memory
Understanding what Elberon values explains what people here want from a wellness appointment: something unhurried, well made, and worth keeping in the routine.
- Victorian-era homes and tree-lined streets
- Elberon took shape in the 19th century, and the housing stock still shows it. The streets are quiet and residential, which is a large part of why people who could live anywhere along this coast choose to live here.
- The beaches and boardwalk next door
- Long Branch’s shoreline and boardwalk sit within easy reach, which is what turns ordinary exercise here into something people actually keep doing: a walk, a jog, a ride, most days of the year.
- A history that includes presidential visits
- Elberon’s stretch of coast has drawn national figures for well over a century, and that history is still visible in the architecture and the way the neighborhood carries itself.
- Community events and shore recreation
- Between neighborhood gatherings and open access to Jersey Shore recreation, the calendar here rewards being physically able to take part in it.
Preventive care between the ocean and the train line
As part of Long Branch, Elberon has ready access to fitness centers, yoga studios and wellness events in the greater Long Branch area, alongside nearby medical facilities and health food stores. The coastline does the rest: jogging, cycling and beach fitness are simply what people do here, and they do it year-round rather than seasonally.
Holistic therapies and preventive care have grown steadily more popular among residents, and photobiomodulation belongs in that category. It is not something you turn to once an injury has already happened. It works best as a standing appointment, booked the way you would book anything else that keeps a body in service.
What a course of sessions looks like
- Session length
- 15 to 20 minutes in the bed. You are warm and still; there is nothing to do but lie there.
- Starting cadence
- Two to three sessions a week. Consistency matters far more than the length of any single visit.
- Same day
- Warmth and a general sense of being loosened off. No downtime, no recovery period, no restriction on what you do next.
- First few weeks
- Sleep quality is the change most clients report first, followed by everyday stiffness and muscle soreness easing between efforts.
- Longer horizon
- Skin responds on a slower clock than muscle does, because collagen turnover takes time. Judge it over months, not weeks. Results vary between individuals and are never guaranteed.
Suitability, and what to tell us first
Whole-body red light therapy suits most healthy adults. It is non-invasive, uses no ultraviolet light, and leaves nothing on the skin. Even so, a few things are worth raising before you book.
- Photosensitizing medication. Certain antibiotics, acne treatments and herbal supplements increase light sensitivity. Let us know what you take.
- Pregnancy. Speak with your physician before booking a session.
- Active medical treatment. If you are being treated for cancer, or for a condition affecting your skin or eyes, check with the clinician managing your care.
- On the day. Arrive without lotions, oils or heavy makeup, since anything on the skin blocks light. You will have the room to yourself, and protective eyewear is provided.
