Recover in a different light
For a waterfront community that lives on the bay, we bring something rare inland: a premium, FDA-cleared NovoTHOR whole-body red light bed. A few minutes in Howell, engineered to help you feel your best.
The premise
Light your cells can use
Red light therapy — photobiomodulation — delivers red (around 660 nm) and near-infrared (around 850 nm) light across your whole body at once. Your mitochondria absorb it and produce cellular energy more efficiently. The result is better circulation, less inflammation, and faster tissue repair. It is non-invasive and drug-free, with no UV and no downtime — and it is evidence-based, not a cure or a promise.
Whole-body
Full coverage in the NovoTHOR bed, not a single panel.
Minutes
Short sessions with zero recovery time afterward.
FDA-cleared
Professional technology, operated by trained staff.
Non-invasive
No UV, no needles, no drugs — just light.
Made for a community that stays active
Boating, fishing, chasing kids around the park — Gilford Park keeps moving. Two benefits that keep pace.
Pain & inflammation relief
Improved blood flow and reduced oxidative stress can ease chronic pain, sore muscles and stiff joints.

Why time on the water leaves a mark
A day on the bay is not one big exertion, it is several hundred small ones: bracing on an unstable deck, hauling lines, reaching overhead, absorbing chop through your knees and lower back. Muscles under that sustained, low-grade load accumulate metabolic by-products faster than a still body clears them — which is why stiffness shows up the morning after rather than that evening.
Near-infrared at 850 nm penetrates deeper than visible red, reaching the muscle and connective tissue carrying that load. Absorbed by mitochondria, it supports ATP output and local blood flow, and better-perfused tissue clears waste and delivers oxygen more efficiently. That is the whole proposition — modest and repeatable.
Circulation, first and foremost
Blood flow is the common thread under most of the documented effects — it is how oxygen arrives and how waste leaves. Read the detail on better circulation.
The part nobody expects
Light exposure and circadian rhythm are tightly coupled, and a late-afternoon session is the one people most often say changed how they slept. More on improved sleep.
A realistic timeline
Two to three sessions a week, judged over four to six weeks. The evidence base rests on repeated exposure, so a single visit tells you very little beyond whether you enjoy the twenty minutes.
Rooted on the Toms River
Gilford Park is a waterfront neighborhood with deep Italian, Irish and German roots and a lasting love of the water — from the Gilford Park Yacht Club to the docks and boat launches along the bay. Everyday wellness runs on the greater Toms River scene: Planet Fitness, Crunch Fitness, Pure Toms River Yoga, and the parks and waterfronts that anchor daily life. A whole-body light session in Howell is the premium recovery step that complements all of it.
Most of that mix is already preventative: health food stores and pharmacies are easy to reach, and nearby Shelter Cove Park pulls people outdoors without anyone calling it exercise. Recovery is the one link in the chain nobody formalizes — people train, work, get on the boat, then wait to feel normal again. A standing appointment turns that waiting into something deliberate.

Four places that hold Gilford Park together
Small neighborhoods are defined by a handful of fixed points. These are Gilford Park’s, and each one says something about how people here actually use their bodies.
Gilford Park Yacht Club
A longstanding hub on the Toms River waterfront, with boating, social events and the best views in the neighborhood. Boating is deceptively physical work — rigging, hauling, bracing against chop — and the shoulders and lower back send the invoice a day later.
Gilford Park Playground
The neighborhood park, with playground equipment and green space families use constantly. Lifting kids, kneeling and standing through an afternoon adds up quietly — the sort of wear people accept rather than address.
Bay Avenue
The main thoroughfare through Gilford Park, lined with local businesses and running toward the waterfront. It is a reminder that this neighborhood does its errands, its dining and its walking in the same few blocks.
Gilford Park Presbyterian Church
A historic church that still serves as a center for gatherings and local events. Institutions like this are why Gilford Park reads as a neighborhood rather than a subdivision — and why word about whole-body light therapy travels here by conversation.
Twenty minutes, and what to know beforehand
The session is uncomplicated. You get the room to yourself, undress to whatever you are comfortable with — light only affects skin it can reach, so less is more — put on the eye protection we provide, and lie down. It runs about twenty minutes, warm and completely passive, with no ultraviolet component at any point.
Afterward there is no recovery period and nothing to schedule around. Come before work, after a day on the water, or between errands — and drink some water, because you have just asked your circulation to do more than usual.
Before you book
- Photosensitizing medication — including some antibiotics, acne treatments and diuretics — is worth raising with your doctor first.
- If you are pregnant or may be, hold off until your physician signs off.
- Diagnosed light-sensitive conditions and active cancer treatment both warrant a conversation before you book.
- We are a wellness studio, not a medical practice. This is supportive care, not a diagnosis, treatment or cure.
Bayshore neighbors with pages of their own
Gilford Park shares its water, its roads and most of its weekend plans with the communities around it. If you are reading this on behalf of a friend a few minutes away, start with their town instead.
