Two therapeutic wavelengths — visible red and near-infrared — delivered together across your whole body. It is the pairing that defines whole-body photobiomodulation.
How red light therapy works
Inside the NovoTHOR® bed, red and near-infrared light are absorbed by the mitochondria in your cells — the structures that generate energy. That absorption supports healthy ATP production, circulation and the body’s own management of inflammation. The session is drug-free and non-invasive, and you walk out ready to get on with your day.
Read the science behind every benefitA natural fit for an active town
Between youth sports leagues, local gyms, and days spent at Lake Barnegat and Gille Park, Barnegat Pines keeps moving. All that activity earns its recovery. Residents turn to red light therapy to support pain relief after a hard week and to look after their joint health for the long run. It is preventative wellness that fits the way this community already lives.
What Barnegat Pines is known for
- Close-knit, family-friendly neighborhoods where people know their neighbors
- Lakes, parks and outdoor recreation woven into ordinary weekly life
- An active civic association hosting the events that keep the community connected
- Diverse ancestry, including strong Italian and Irish heritage
The wellness habits already here
This is a family-oriented wellness culture more than a boutique fitness one. The gyms are local, the youth sports leagues are busy, and the health food stores sit over in Lacey Township alongside the medical practices that serve the neighborhood. Most of the movement people get is never scheduled at all — it happens at Lake Barnegat and Gille Park, outdoors, with other people.
Because the town already values preventative health, a whole-body light session is no departure: it is the recovery half of a routine that is already strong on the activity half.

Around Barnegat Pines
The landmarks that anchor the neighborhood we are proud to serve.
Lake Barnegat
A freshwater lake for swimming, fishing and community events at the center of neighborhood life.
A season in and around the water loads the same shoulders, lower back and knees week after week — quiet, cumulative wear that a standing recovery habit is meant to stay ahead of.
Gille Park
Sports fields, playgrounds and walking trails that serve as the local recreation hub.
League play and weeknight laps on the trails pull on the body differently, and both leave tired legs behind. Whole-body light gives them a way to reset between outings.
Barnegat Pines Civic Association
A longstanding organization hosting events and keeping neighbors connected.
Setting up an event and standing through an afternoon is its own physical day. Sore feet and stiff hips afterward are a common reason people first ask us about joint support.
Lacey Township Branch Library
A local branch offering educational resources and community programs nearby.
A reminder of how much sits close to home in Lacey Township — health food stores, medical practices and wellness providers residents already lean on. We are the piece of that picture a drive up Route 9.
Four reasons neighbors book the bed
Supportive care with a real evidence base — not a cure and not a guarantee. Here is what it is actually doing.
Pain and everyday soreness
Red at 660nm works near the surface; near-infrared at 850nm reaches deeper into muscle and connective tissue. Both are absorbed by mitochondria, supporting ATP production and local blood flow, and better-perfused tissue clears the by-products that keep soreness lingering. Expect a pleasantly warm twenty minutes, and judge it over a few weeks rather than one visit.
More on pain and everyday sorenessJoints that have to keep up
Knees that stiffen after a season of league play and hips that complain on the trail are what we hear about most in towns this active. Because the NovoTHOR® bed treats you head to toe, both sides of the body get the same dose in one session — which matters when the ache is not confined to one joint.

Photobiomodulation is studied for how it supports the body's own regulation of inflammation, not for switching it off — inflammation is part of how tissue repairs itself. It is a quieter, slower benefit than pain relief, and the reason we talk about a routine rather than a one-off.
More on inflammation, managed not silencedRest after a long day outdoors
Light exposure and circadian rhythm are closely linked, and people who come in at the end of a working day often mention settling more easily that night. Nothing about the session is sedating; it is the downstream effect on rest that gets noticed.
More on rest after a long day outdoorsThe practical side of an appointment
You lie down inside a full-length bed and the light does the rest. A session runs roughly twenty minutes with nothing to recover from afterward, so people come on a lunch break and go straight back to work. Light only reaches skin it can see, so most people wear very little; you have the room to yourself and eye protection is provided. There is no UV, and nothing is injected or applied to your skin.
Two or three sessions a week is a sensible starting cadence, judged over four to six weeks. The effect is cumulative — the research rests on repeated exposure, not single doses — so it rewards people who treat it like the gym rather than like a spa day.
Talk to your physician first if
- You take a photosensitizing medication — some antibiotics, acne treatments and diuretics qualify.
- You are pregnant, or think you might be.
- You have a diagnosed light-sensitive condition, or are in treatment for an active cancer.
- You are unsure how a session sits alongside a care plan you already follow.
We run a wellness studio, not a medical practice. Red light therapy does not diagnose, treat or cure disease, and we will never tell you otherwise.
