Red light therapy for Collingwood Park, delivered with clinical care

For Collingwood Park residents who value a considered, professional approach to wellness, our Howell studio offers FDA-cleared NovoTHOR® whole-body red light therapy — evidence-based, non-invasive, and administered by a team that takes your comfort seriously.

What the treatment supports

Photobiomodulation uses red (660nm) and near-infrared (850nm) light to support the mitochondria inside your cells. The result is a set of well-studied benefits — described honestly, with no promises of a cure.

Rooted in the Collingwood Park community

Collingwood Park carries a friendly, suburban character with easy access to major highways. The Collingwood Auction & Flea Market has long drawn visitors from across the region, and the Collingwood Park Seventh Day Adventist School anchors the neighborhood. With Allaire State Park close by for hiking and recreation, residents lean toward an active, preventive-health mindset.

Because so much of Collingwood Park life flows toward neighboring Farmingdale, Howell, Tinton Falls, Wall Township, and Neptune City, adding a session at our Route 9 studio is a natural, convenient fit.

That wellness culture is partly borrowed, and the neighborhood is honest about it. There is no strip of studios inside Collingwood Park itself; residents use the fitness centers, yoga studios and health food stores in adjacent towns, so the habit of driving a few minutes for something worth having is already established. Group fitness, holistic therapies and a preventive rather than reactive mindset are the through-lines.

Easy highway access is part of what the area is known for, and it is why a Route 9 studio works as a standing appointment rather than an errand.

Where Collingwood Park spends its weekends

Three places do most of the work of giving this corner of Monmouth County its shape. Each one asks something different of the body, and each is a reason people book.

Collingwood Auction & Flea Market

A longstanding marketplace for antiques, collectibles and fresh produce, and enough of a regional draw that shoppers come from well outside the neighborhood. A morning of it is hours on your feet on uneven ground, bending over tables and carrying finds to the car — an unglamorous load on the lower back, hips and feet.

Collingwood Park Seventh Day Adventist School

The neighborhood’s own educational institution, serving Collingwood Park and the surrounding area. Households built around a school calendar run on early alarms and full evenings, and rest is the first thing to give way. Light exposure is one of the few levers that acts on sleep without adding anything to take.

Allaire State Park

A large historic state park just outside Collingwood Park, with hiking, biking and family recreation across a lot of ground. Trail miles are hard on knees, ankles and connective tissue, and whether you get back out next weekend comes down to how well you recovered from the last one.

Pain, stiffness, and a realistic timeline

Red light at 660nm is absorbed mostly in the skin and the tissue just beneath it. Near-infrared at 850nm travels further, reaching muscle, tendon and the tissue around joints. Both are taken up by an enzyme in your mitochondria called cytochrome c oxidase, and the practical result is that cells produce ATP more readily. ATP is the fuel every repair process runs on, so a cell with more of it on hand gets through its ordinary work faster.

Two knock-on effects matter most for the complaints we hear about around here. Local blood flow improves, bringing oxygen in and clearing metabolic waste out — the mechanism behind better circulation and much of the drop in post-exertion soreness. And the inflammatory response, useful in short bursts and corrosive when it lingers, tends to settle; reduced inflammation and joint health are the same story told from two angles.

Response varies genuinely from person to person, and nobody can tell you in advance which kind of responder you will be. We would rather say that plainly than promise you a result.

What the first month usually looks like

During the session
Warmth and a settled feeling. That is circulation responding, not tissue repairing.
Sessions one to three
Many people notice their sleep before they notice their joints.
Weeks two to four
Less morning stiffness and easier stairs tend to appear here — the effect is cumulative, not immediate.
Ongoing
Two to three sessions a week is a common starting cadence, easing to weekly once things settle.

Inside the NovoTHOR® bed

The bed is a full-body enclosure lined with LED panels, so light reaches you head to toe at once instead of one region at a time. You lie down, the panels come on, and the light portion runs a matter of minutes. There is no UV, nothing to swallow, no needles and no recovery period afterwards.

Light only works where it meets skin, so wear as much or as little as you are comfortable in — the more skin you expose, the more of the body gets treated. Book online or call ahead; we run by appointment so the bed is ready when you arrive, and parking at Cherry Tree Plaza is free.

Questions worth asking your physician first

Red light therapy is non-invasive and well tolerated, which is not the same as universally appropriate. Talk to your doctor before booking if you take a photosensitizing medication — certain antibiotics, acne treatments and some other prescriptions raise the skin’s reaction to light. The same applies if you are pregnant, being treated for an active malignancy, or sensitive to bright light. We are a wellness studio, not a substitute for medical care.
